How an electrical takeoff runs
How do you count devices and fixtures on a plan?
One scope per device type, then a marker on each symbol as you read the sheet. Nothing is counted unless you click it, so the total on screen is the total you counted, and each marker stays on the drawing where you placed it.
How do you measure conduit and wire runs?
Calibrate the sheet against a dimension you can read, then trace the run. Feet accumulate per scope, so EMT, MC and homeruns stay on separate lines instead of one lump sum at the end of the bid.
Can you price material and labor separately?
Yes. Each scope carries its own material rate and labor rate, so you can see where the margin sits per device type and per foot of pathway before the number goes to the GC.
Does it replace your estimating spreadsheet?
Only if you want it to. Export a CSV of quantities by scope into the workbook you already bid from, or finish the bid here and send the proposal PDF.
