How do you count drops and devices?
A scope per device type — Cat6 drops, cameras, APs, readers — then a marker on each symbol. Counts total per scope as you work through the set.
How do you estimate cable footage?
Calibrate the sheet, then trace the pathway from the closet out. Footage builds per scope, and you can carry your own slack allowance in the rate rather than in your head.
Can you bid several systems on one job?
Yes. Data, CCTV, access control and audio each stay on their own scope and color, so the GC sees a line per system instead of one number.
What comes out at the end?
A proposal PDF with scopes and quantities, or a CSV that drops into the spreadsheet you already price from.
